Just got back for Lights Before Christmas… Lowes sponsored a Holiday Day Card display with the cards being done by school art classes… lots of generic cards – 3 schools did cards celebrating the Jewish faith – the Menorah, Star of David; 1 school did a card on the faux religion of Kawanza; all of them bright and colorful…the card that I guess was a celebration of Christ was (a) NOT DONE BY A SCHOOL; (b) did not really say anything about Christmas – PEACE ON EARTH was it; and lastly (c) it was a large black piece of plywood, with about 2 dozen white dots (stars), a white line drawing of the star of Jesus and a line drawing – about 4 inches high (on a card over 5 feet tall) of what I guess was suppose to be Bethlehem… What a sad, pathetic commentary of the SC schools when the students can express views of Kawanza and the Jewish faith at Christmas – but are not allowed to show anything related to Jesus…. GIVE ME BACK MY AMERICA!
